Pursuant to the thread on MIDI boxes for the Mac, I now remember where I got mine. Go to http://www.shareware.com/ and search for "loeten am mac". This will get you a program that contains a bunch of useful information (some in German, some in English; most is in German), amongst which is schematics and English description for a MIDI interface. There is also a set of PCB artwork. The interface is powered directly from the Mac's serial port.
